Updating AD Tripwires System

We continuously improve the AD Tripwires System with new features, security enhancements, and bug fixes. This guide explains how to keep your system up to date.

Update Notifications

You'll be notified when updates are available through:

• Email notifications sent to all users with Tripwires access
• A banner displayed on the AD Tripwires domain details page

Update Steps

1. Navigate to the AD Tripwires domain details page

2. Click on the Update button for the tripwire component requiring an update

   

   AD Event Collector Update

   • Copy and run the command provided on the update page with domain admin credentials on any domain-joined Windows host with internet connectivity
   • You will receive confirmation from the command in your terminal or Powershell window

   AD Agent Update

   • Click the Update button to trigger the update process
   • You will be taken to the NodeZero Runners page; here you can view the progress of the install-ad-agent command

3. Update banners will disappear when updated components have been detected by NodeZero. This may take up to 20 minutes.

Keep Your NodeZero Runner Up To Date

The AD Tripwires System requires an up-to-date NodeZero Runner to function properly. To update your runner:

1. Navigate to the Runners page in your NodeZero console
2. Locate your runner in the list
3. Click the dropdown menu next to the runner
4. Select "Upgrade Runner"
